From the Counseling Department:

The Level Change deadline is Friday, September 29th. This means that the course that a student "drops/leaves" will not be recorded on his/her transcript. AFTER the 29th the course will be recorded with a "WP" or "WF" depending on the student's academic standing when he/she withdraws. The Withdraw does NOT impact their GPA. Also, the grade earned in the previous course does not move with the student until a level change after the 29th. Between today and that Friday the student gets a "clean slate" in their new course. If your student is wrestling with this decision, know that no courses can be dropped in the final quarter it is offered (ex. a 1st semester elective cannot be dropped in Q2 or a yearlong course cannot be dropped in Q4).

PSAT- Wednesday, October 11th All sophomores are pre-registered. Additional spots are available on a first come-first serve basis and juniors will have priority. The cost of the test for 9th and 11th grade students is $25 and the deadline to sign up is Friday, September 29th. Please visit the Counseling Office to sign-up

BHS NEWS

9/15/17

All School Announcement- Wednesday, October 11th will be a unique day!
The in-school PSAT will take place on 10/11/2017 and, while all sophomore students are taking the exam parents may write a letter opting out of the exam for their son or daughter. BHS will be covering the cost of the exam for all sophomores. PSAT testing will also be open to 9th and 11th graders who elect to take the exam. We have ordered more exams than ever taken in the past, based on prior testing sign-ups in the 9th and 11th grade and the total enrollment of the sophomore class. Because the number of tests ordered for 9th and 11th grade students is an educated “guestimate,” spots are available on a first come-first serve basis and juniors will have priority. The cost of the test to 9th and 11th grade students is $25 and the deadline to sign up is Friday, September 29th. Please visit the Counseling Office to sign-up. Seniors can choose to spend the entire day planning for their futures (i.e. going on college campus tours, attending college fairs, meeting with military recruiters, seeking out interviews, etc.) In addition, competency instruction will be offered during the morning or any students who would like extra help and are not planning on taking the PSAT. Remember that all sophomores are required to attend school and take the exam.
