Improving Intersession Communication

Intersession is fast approaching. For ease sake of sharing information to students during intersession trips, some teachers may decide to implement either Remind or WhatsApp, texting tools. However, in order for students under the age of 18 years old to use the tool, a parent must give consent to use the application.

Remind is a tool that allows a teacher to send out a message to your son/daughter’s mobile phone without either party knowing each other's phone number. It is a quick, efficient way of sharing out information to those that need the information. This can be helpful to give students reminders, time locations, etc while they are on their intersession trip.

Remind’s Terms of Service can be found HERE and Remind’s Privacy Policy can be found HERE. After viewing those terms of service, if you determine that you DO NOT want your son/daughter to use the application, please print this document and fill out the form below. Have your son/daughter drop off the form in the main office.

Some international intersession trips, that are visiting other sister schools, may ask students to use WhatsApp as a means of communicating with each other. This app works while the students is under a wifi connection.

WhatsApp Terms of Service can be found HERE and WhatsApp Privacy Policy can be found HERE. After viewing those terms of service, if you determine that you DO NOT want your son/daughter to use the application, please print this document and fill out the form below. Have your son/daughter drop off the form in the main office.

It is the Bedford School District's mission to make sure that we are protecting the privacy of your son/daughter and adhering to those standards.

Thank you
