“DEA 360 Strategy”
A student at BHS is leading an effort to make students and parents aware of a program called the “DEA 360 Strategy”. The Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation has received funding through this initiative and is holding an opium awareness summit in Lowell MA on www.drugfreeisuptome.org, there you will find information focused on why students should attend this important summit. This summit is meant to inform teachers, parents and students about how to avoid the dangerous path to addiction.. This event features a keynote speaker, student engagement with combating opioid abuse, and the showing of the short film, If Only. For information about the summit go the the website,
“DEA 360 Strategy” is a national program focused on tackling the rising problem of prescription opioid and heroin abuse. New Hampshire has been selected as the next DEA 360 state and will benefit from funding to put toward combating the opium and fentanyl problem in NH. The local DEA office is working to create an opium/ fentanyl summit much like the one in Lowell sometime in March. The focus of the summit will be on how to implement strategies and programs that can have an impact on the problem.

2016 BHS Toys for Tots Campaign
Toy collection is underway here at Bedford High School and will continue through. Seniors from Betsy Doyle's and Govan Baird's Advisories are in their 4th year collecting toys throughout the school. Additionally, there are collection boxes located in Room 218, the Library, Counseling Office, Bulldog Corner, the Commons and the Main Entrance. Our goal is 500 toys this year!
Students and Staff are asked to attached a small slip of paper with their name to each toy donated. All names will be entered into a prize raffle drawing to be held the. Last year we collected nearly 603 toys and with an earlier deadline for collections we are aiming for at least 500 this year! If every student and staff member brought in just 1 toy each we would triple our goal and have 1500 toys for children and teens in need!
Thank you in advance for your participation in this very worthy charity!

Paperwork for all Winter sport programs is now due to the Athletic Department. Upon turning in paperwork - Every athlete must have received back an “Approval Stamp” on their Emergency Medical Form. Athletes give coaches this form, which is required to tryout and/or participate in sports.
Athletes cannot participate in sports without a current physical exam. Physical exams provided by a physician are valid for two years based on the actual date of the physical exam and must cover the entire timeframe of the current season in which sport participation occurs.
BHS Winter Athletes must take a mandatory C3logix test, which is a required concussion balance test - Click this link to sign up: Balance Test Sign-Up
Important Note: All Winter athletes season must have completed both their baseline test, which is done on the computer here at BHS and the balance test (link above) before tryouts. Baseline testing is done typically for freshman and juniors. If you have not participated in sports this Fall or last Spring you must also take the balance test.
