From the Principal:
Senior Computer Access
Concerns have been raised by some parents about the availability of computers for seniors at school. In an effort to ensure reasonable access we are closely monitoring the use of in-house computers.  In the interim, I asked to put into service 10 additional Chromebook devices in the library for seniors only.  To use a chromebook a senior must provide a driver’s license for the block.  Chromebooks are not to be removed from the library to take to class.  We have also dedicated 30 additional Chromebook devices for use by seniors in classes where the predominant class make-up are underclassmen with only a few seniors.   In this situation teachers and or seniors may check out a Chromebook in room 222 by leaving a driver’s license.  There are also times when a laptop cart will be available to students in the library when not checked into a classroom.  I will continue to monitor the situation.  This plan will add an additional 40 devices for senior use throughout the building.  

ATTENTION ALL SENIORS - senior dues this year are $35 and this payment must be turned in to Senior Advisors by October 1st. If the payment is made late, the price will increase by $5. The collection of dues is very important to the senior class, as these funds go into paying for caps and gowns for graduation, senior week activities, and more. We appreciate your cooperation.

Parking on Election Day
Election day is next Tuesday and school will begin with a two hour delay.  This will give the morning voters an opportunity to vote without the typical heavy traffic as school starts. However,  staff will be at school and will park at BHS. Students will also eventually arrive to school and will be parking on campus.  There is a plan for parking we believe will accommodate voters, staff, and students.  Voter parking will be reserved in the back lot to the right of the Emergency Road as you face the parking lot.  Voters are asked to follow the one way traffic pattern currently in force.

Tuesday, September 13 RAL/BHS 2 hour delay - Primary

New Policy for Home Varsity Football games - Starting with opening football game on September 2nd, against Merrimack,  we will be charging adults an admission fee of $5.00 per person.  Anyone under 18 will be admitted FREE.  Students are encouraged to show their school ID when driving or entering BHS. Fees will be collected by cars as you drive up to the stadium.  To help ease any traffic congestion please try and have exact dollar amount if possible to expedite the process. Because this is  a new process, we encourage arriving early at the games.
The funds collected from admissions will be used toward a fund to improve stadium facilities to include additional bleachers/team-rooms to be used by all sports teams.  The admission fee is one part of a larger fund raising initiative and is a joint effort between BFOR (Bedford Friends of Recreation) and our BHS Booster Club.

Important Dates and Events:
Thursday, September 22 — 6:00-7:30pm: Junior IB Orientation Night — BHS Theater.  This evening will introduce families to the IB Diploma Programme at BHS, including the program philosophy and approach to teaching and learning, the scope and sequence of IB coursework, and student expectations. All families of Juniors enrolled in IB courses are welcome to attend.

Level Change Deadline is Friday, September 23rd
PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualification Test FALL 2016 INFORMATION!
The PSAT/NMSQT administration has moved back to a Saturday test date!
The date for this year's test is Saturday October 15th, please arrive at 7:45, test will take place from 8-noon(approximate). Students can sign up in the COUNSELING OFFICE starting Monday Sept 12th! Fee is $25 made payable to Bedford High School

From the Deans:
We still need five host families for the annual Spanish Exchange.  Four boys and one girl still need homes.
The details:
  • You and your kids do not need to speak Spanish.  The exchange students are here to practice their English.
  • The students arrive on September 9th and leave on September 26th.
  • Families are mostly in charge of weekends and food; weekdays are covered by school events during the day.
  • Your son/daughter can be an athlete; the exchange students either attend practice to participate or watch, or they spend time with another host student and exchange student after school.
  • The genders do not have to match; a boy's family can host a girl and vice versa.
  • You can keep to your usual family routines; the students are here to experience high school and family life in Bedford, NH.
The remaining students are Marina, Gonzalo, Diego, Pablo, and Julian, and each needs a family.  If you are interested, please contact Bob Jozokos at jozokosb@sau25.net or at 310-9000 ext 33124.

Student Activities:
Freshmen elections for class office will be held Monday, September 12th.
The Parent meeting for "The Drowsy Chaperone" will be Thursday, Sept 15th, at 6 PM in the theater. We are looking forward to meeting you.
The Homecoming Dance will be September 24th at 8pm, after the football game. Tickets will be on sale soon.
In Sports:  
Reminder note to All athletes and our Freshman … Whenever student athletes dismiss early from classes to travel to a another school for their games - Please know that they are responsible to notify their teachers before class and dismiss themselves according to the bus departure schedule time.  The rule is to leave class six (6) minutes prior to the scheduled bus departure time during school hours.  We request that student athletes demonstrate courtesy to their teachers and fellow classmates when early dismissal occurs.  Thank you!

Traffic Pattern for Drop-off and Pick-up
Anyone familiar with the traffic at the BHS/RAL campus knows that things can get a little hectic during the morning and afternoon drop off and pick up.
​ ​Please click here to review the drop off and pick up practices at Lurgio.
As always, we ask all drivers to do the following:
  • ​Pull forward as far as possible in the Pick Up/Drop Off Area.
  • Yield to pedestrians at all times when on campus.
  • Take turns at the main intersections when congestion is high.
  • Be patient.
We ask that parents to please refrain from picking up son/daughter on Nashua Rd.  This creates both a safety hazard and slows the pick up process for everyone.
