BHS News

3/25/16
From the Principal:
Good Afternoon!
Hockey State Champions!
Congratulations to the Men’s Hockey team for their thrilling victory over rival Bishop Guertin.  It was a “battle” right to the end as the two evenly matched teams gave the fans their monies worth!  In the end the Bulldogs just wanted it more shutting down the Cardinals offense for the entire third period!   Wow what a game!
FERNAND J. PREVOST MATHEMATICS TEACHING AWARD
The award is given to a teacher in their first through fifth year who meets the following criteria:
  • commitment to good mathematics
  • confidence that all children can learn
  • a spirit of self reflection and professional curiosity
  • caring and concern for colleagues
  • a willingness to explore, to learn, and to grow as a teacher of mathematics
  • a willingness to share mathematical and pedagogical activities with others
I am proud to announce that one of own, Mr. Stefan Fritz was the recipient of this very prestigious honor. He truly does some amazing things with students in his math classroom. And, while a great individual honor for Stefan, he represents the many outstanding teachers we have at BHS!
Afternoon Pick-up:
I know afternoon pickup is a challenge with the large volume of traffic on campus.  However, I need to remind everyone to please follow the rules of the road.  Yesterday, a student was nearly hit by a driver who was driving on the wrong side of the road when leaving.  I reviewed the incident on school cameras and found that seven other vehicles used the wrong side of the road as well.  I recognize the situation can be very frustrating, and I ask that everyone be patient and follow the rules of the road in order to keep everyone safe.
