Smarter Balanced –
Try out the new Smarter Balanced Test
You can try your hand at taking a practice version of the new Smarter Balanced test here. You will find sample questions and tutorials on how the test works. As mentioned last week, students in grades 3 - 8 and grade 11 will be taking these new state tests in English Language Arts and Mathematics this spring. The Smarter Balanced tests replace the NECAP tests. Smarter Balanced will be used by 20 states including New Hampshire. This will allow us to compare our students' performance to other high performing school districts across the country. Students will take these tests on the computer over several days. Over the coming weeks, we will continue to share information about Smarter Balanced, how it works, and what your child can expect.
2016 Spanish School Exchange
Next year we will be participating in our 2nd Spanish Exchange with a school in Valladolid, Spain. After an extremely successful exchange this year we are excited about receiving new students from the same school. In September, we will host a group of students from Spain for two weeks, and during the 2016 Intersession our host students will have an extended trip to Spain to stay with the Spanish families.
Here is a link for more information on the program (hosting, the exchange, the school, Valladolid, etc): https://sites.google.
If you are interested in this reciprocal exchange, please reply to Mr Jozokos firstname.lastname@example.org.
